Pandora Radio is a streaming audio application that allows you to create different personalized radio stations. You simply tell it what type of music you want to listen to and then it starts playing. As you rate songs, Pandora attempts to use the attributes of the song (melody, harmony, instruments, lyrics, arrangement, etc.) to find similar music that it thinks you will like. It gives you the option to stream low or high quality audio. I have been using the low quality which sounds quite nice, buffers quickly, and hasn't skipped on me yet.

It remembers the last page you were on for each book, features a table of contents, and supports bookmarks. The interface is rather attractive, showing book cover images arranged on a virtual bookshelf and animations when flipping pages.

BuzzOff can put your phone on vibrate or silent mode until either a specified amount of time passes or after you move a certain distance from your current location. I used to always forget to turn my ringer back on after I put my phone on vibrate, but now I can just schedule a time and BuzzOff does all of the work for me. It is very simple to use and comes in very handy.

StreamFurious is a streaming audio player for Android. It can play shoutcast/icecast streams (including .m3u/.pls files from your browser) and includes a built-in list of user contributed stations. It is capable of playing in the background so you can continue to use other programs while you listen. StreamFurious may take a minute to buffer a stream before it starts playing but rarely has a problem once it begins. I love being able to drive my car down the highway blaring live Phish.

Last.fm is a streaming audio application that keeps tracks of what songs you like or dislike and recommends new music based on your taste. The interface is simple and displays the album art as well as the controls. Loading the song initially can be slow, but it only rarely has to pause to rebuffer. The Last.fm app can play your music in the background so you can use other applications on your Android device. I have always dreamed of having the music I like streaming from the Internet to my car...

KeePassDroid is an Android version of KeePass, an open source password manager. It is very handy to be able to take your passwords with you wherever you go. Right now it can only view your passwords and create new ones, not edit existing entries. You can easily use your password file (.kdb) from your KeePass (Windows) or KeePassX (Linux). The interface is rather basic, but definitely gets the job done.

Flashlight is a very simple application that turns the brightness to 100%, prevents the screen from going to sleep, goes fullscreen and displays a white background. I think everyone has used their cellphone as a flashlight at one point, but this application squeezes every last bit of brightness out of my HTC G1 - enough to illuminate a whole room.

Contact Owner displays selected information from your contact list on the lock screen of your Android phone with the idea that if you lose your phone, someone will be able to contact you to return your phone. One thoughtful feature is that it pulls information from your phone's contacts, so any changes you make to your phone's contacts will automatically display in Contact Owner. Contact Owner can also display additional text before or after the contact information so you can tell people if you are offering a reward. Contact Owner automatically runs when you start your phone so you can just install it and forget about it.

Bubble uses the accelerometer to turn your Android powered device into a virtual level. It is surprisingly accurate and can be calibrated if it isn't reading correctly. I haven't had a need for it yet, but I have no doubt that someday it will come in handy and until then, it serves as a great application to show-off to my friends.

GPS Status displays information such as latitude, longitude, accuracy, altitude, speed, acceleration, and GPS time. If you are moving faster than 5 km/h, GPS Status can set the orientation by the GPS satellites instead of the compass for greater accuracy. The interface is a little cluttered but works quite well. It can also measure the strength of the magnetic field, which is handy if you want to see what affect a magnetic phone case my have on your device. GPS status will prompt you to turn on your GPS if it is turned off.

SpectralView Analyzer (also called Spectral Audio Analyzer) is a real-time audio analyzer, meaning it takes sound from the microphone and shows the audio wavelengths on a colored spectrogram. It probably isn't that useful to most people, but it is fun to play with and is a great application to show off your phone.
